What is HYDROS?
HYDROS is a Cloud-based platform for the development and management of the Water Safety Plan ( WSP).
It enables the assessment and management of risks related to the recharge areas of water abstraction points intended for human consumption, as well as the entire drinking water supply system. HYDROS allows the identification of all hazards and hazardous events that may pose a threat.
The platform offers a more effective approach to risk assessment and management, supporting public health prevention, environmental protection, and the monitoring of water intended for human consumption. It ensures appropriate and up-to-date communication and information exchange between competent authorities and water suppliers, in accordance with Italian national guidelines for the implementation of Water Safety Plans (ISTISAN 22/33 regolamentation) for:
- implementation of water safety plans (report published by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità ISTISAN 22/33)
- risk assessment and management of water safety risk in internal building distribution systems (report published by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità ISTISAN 22/32)
- the approval of the water safety plans for drinking water supplies (report published by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità ISTISAN 25/4)
HYDROS is a cloud-based solution designed for the proactive management and assessment of risks across every stage of the water supply chain, from source abstraction to the end user.
The platform allows the structured input of all relevant data regarding assets (nodes, sub-nodes, and inter-nodes) and Water Supply Zones (WSZs) within the water distribution network. Once this data is inserted, users can complete dedicated checklists identifying hazards and hazardous events. HYDROS automatically generates and transmits the risk matrix to the Italian National Institute of Health (Istituto Superiore di Sanità - ISS), in compliance with its official standards.
HYDROS is also fully integrated with AnTeA, the Italian dynamic national registry of drinking water systems, enabling seamless planning and submission of sampling plans.
